Examinations
A routine dental examination is of great importance both for adults and children. Apart from having your teeth and gums checked, you will also have the soft tissues of your mouth checked for any abnormalities.
For children/adolescents between the ages of 2-18 years, it is important that they see a dentist at regular intervals, to check the development of their dentition and, if necessary, to treat any functional discrepancies in the alignment of their teeth with braces, i.e. by means of referral to an Orthodontist.
Treating and preventing dental caries (decay) at an early stage and providing this patient group with oral hygiene and nutrition advice is of paramount importance. Where appropriate, we provide children with fissure sealants and fluoride Varnish to protect their teeth and prevent the formation of decay.
Even if you do not have any teeth, it is important that you see a dental professional from time to time, to have your teeth, gums, tongue and other soft tissues checked, especially if you are a denture wearer.
