Dentures
Partial or total tooth loss can sometimes necessitate the use of removable dental appliances, called dentures. Dentures are made in different materials and fulfil different purposes.
Acrylic denture partial or full dentures
The standard, conventional type of denture is called the acrylic synthetic denture, which is made of hard acrylic/plastic synthetic material. It can be used to replace a partially or fully edentulous mouth. Acrylic dentures can be made with or without clasps.
Cobalt Chrome partial dentures
Are made of two elements, a metallic substructure or skeleton with retentive clasps and rests incorporated into the design to more precisely grip, attach and retain on remaining teeth and an acrylic/synthetic part where the replacing teeth are embedded and incorporated.
Valplast® Flexible Partial Dentures
Are made of a soft plastic, synthetic material that is more flexible that the conventional hard plastic acrylic material. Many patients see Valplast dentures as a more comfortable alternative to acrylic dentures.
